Welcome Friend!

Welcome post

To all my new friends who serve in the nonprofit sector, I say “Welcome!”

Whether you are a nonprofit Founder, Leader or Fundraiser this blog is for you. 🙂

I know your heart — you are involved in the nonprofit sector because you have a burning passion to make a difference in this world. This is, after all, the reason why you started your nonprofit (or why you are involved with a wonderful a nonprofit that resonates with you).

You dream of growing a base of committed donors so that you can expand programs and make a greater impact but the one thing you were not prepared for: all the feels that come along with fundraising. (Insert SMH emoji.)

Fundraising is your kryptonite.

In spite of your best efforts to secure donations for your *AMAZING* nonprofit you are frustrated by the lack of financial resources available. You feel as if you are constantly spinning your wheels and gaining little traction when it comes to growing your nonprofit’s base of financial partners.

If passion was enough then your nonprofit would be fully funded, right?

When it comes to nonprofit fundraising and a lack of financial resources, I get it. I’ve been there. What I have learned in more than 20-years in the nonprofit sector is this: the root cause of financial scarcity is not lack of will, or lack of desire, or lack of motivation. The number one reason why many nonprofit leaders struggle to raise money is because of a lack of training.

The right tools, systems, resources, and tips can make all the difference in turning your fundraising efforts from inconsistent to sustainable!

  • I know that you are ready to get off the fundraising roller-coaster
  • I know that you are eager to make some changes to your nonprofit’s fundraising efforts
  • I know that you want better for your *AMAZING* nonprofit
  • I know that you are looking for practical tips and strategies that are easy to implement and produce revenue generating results
  • I know that you are ready to make the shift from scarcely funded to generating consistent revenue

This is my intention for the Passion & A Plan blog: that it will become a go-to resource for all of your nonprofit fundraising needs and will equip nonprofit teams with valuable (and practical!) information that you can implement right away into your context — so that you can raise more money, now!

My passion is simple: to equip the change-makers of this world — nonprofit leaders: staff, board members, and fundraising volunteers — with the Vision to dream big and push for next-level growth, Tools to create an effective revenue generation plan, and the Strategy to craft a well-formed plan to achieve it all.

Here’s to the journey ahead! I’m thrilled to join you for the ride.

Fundraising Series: Why Your Nonprofit Should Start a Monthly Donor Program in 2019

As a Nonprofit coach, there are two questions I am asked repeatedly:

1.      How do I find more donors?

2.      How can I increase donations?

The two pain-points are certainly interconnected – finding the right donors to support your cause will naturally lead to an increase in donations for your cause.

This month, on the Passion & Profit blog, we will take a look at the most reliable way that your nonprofit can accomplish both.

The answer to finding more of the right donors to support your mission and increasing donations is to implement a monthly donor program as part of your revenue generation efforts in fundraising.

Now, before you try and dismiss this idea with a bajillion reasons why you don’t have the time or capacity for such an undertaking, allow me to share a few statistics that just might change your mind:

According toNonprofitSource.com In 2017:

·         The largest source of charitable giving came from individuals at $281.86 billion

·         88% of the Greatest Generationgives to charity

·         49% of Baby Boomer donors are enrolled in a monthly giving program

·         49% of Gen X donors are enrolled in a monthly giving program

·         40% of Millennial donors are enrolled in a monthly giving program

Wow! This is GREAT news for your fundraising team.

Why? Because it means that there is an amazing philanthropic opportunity to leverage untapped revenue right now in your community!

If your nonprofit currently lacks a vibrant and active monthly donor program then you are missing out on thousands of dollars in untapped donations – donations that can help you expand programs, hire more staff, enhance services, fund a scholarship program, launch new initiatives … the possibilities are endless.

So, join me this month as we explore the 5 key benefits of launching a monthly donor program.
